Tiger catfish
Tiger catfish may be regarded as one of the most popular species among giant catfish. Well, this is because tiger catfish have a very special shape, with more than a dozen horizontal stripes on their bodies, and they have a very big appetite and will eat almost anything.
The body length of adult tiger catfish is 70-100 cm. Its body is slender and elegantly streamlined. The head is extremely long and generous, with a flat and slanted forehead, rounded front and slightly flattened back. The snout is long, wide and flat, like a round spade and a duck's bill. There are 3 pairs of long whiskers on the mouth, the snout whiskers are very long and extend back to the tail fin; there are 2 pairs of whiskers, which are about ten or slightly shorter than the head length. The eyes are small and the upper orbital bone is protruding. Each fin is relatively prosperous, and the tail fin is bifurcated.
The main body color of tiger catfish and each fin are light blue, with tiny black spots scattered, especially the delicate back of the head, and the ventral surface is silvery white. There are thin orange-red edges on each fin, and there are more than a dozen black thin stripes intertwined on both sides of the body from the new part to the caudal peduncle. The shape resembles that of a tiger, hence its name. In addition, due to regional differences or changes, the patterns on the body will also change.
