The original Pomera cat (certainly introduced) breeding cat was the result of an accidental mating of a silver Chinchilla (certainly introduced) long-haired cat and a lilac Burmese cat. cat. The British Baron Miranda von Kerchberg's wife established a breeding program for this purpose, intending to breed kittens with the shape of a Burmese cat and the tip color of silver chinchilla hair. Pomera cats were first exhibited at a show held by the Cat Association in 1983.
