Occasionally, owners are also obsessed with the issue of their dogs’ diet. When the dog eats on time and is not picky about food and is a little fat, the owner is picky about losing weight for the dog. When a dog is very picky about food and won't eat this or that, and the owner has nothing to do with it, he is worried about the dog's physical and mental health. Originally, as long as the dog has a good appetite, it must be a good thing. Since the dog's food is controlled by the owner, how much the dog eats is completely in the hands of the owner. Therefore, the weight of the dog also depends on the frequency and quality of the food fed by the owner. So what should you do if your dog is suddenly picky about food and refuses to eat?

First of all, after careful inspection and taking the necessary time to check the body, confirm that your dog does not suffer from any disease and is simply picky.

At feeding time, give him his usual amount of food and wait 10 seconds. If he starts eating within 10 seconds, great. If he lingers, or even smells it and runs off to play, put the meal away and withhold all food until the next feeding time.

If he finishes the meal you gave him quickly, that’s great. If there is a little left, estimate the remaining amount of food and feed him half the amount he eats the next time he feeds. For example, if you give him 100 grams this time and he eats 80 grams, please give him 40 grams next time. If he continues to lick the bowl after finishing eating and wants to continue eating, the next feeding time (not this time!) can be reduced by 20% based on the current meal amount. This cycle continues until he returns to his normal appetite.

Some dogs are very stubborn and may as well go without food for three or four days until you surrender. This time is the time for you to compete in perseverance. It should be understood that as long as there is sufficient drinking water, not eating for three or four days or even longer will not harm the dog's health. People who are always worried that their dogs will starve to death cannot raise healthy dogs.

As a supplementary measure, you may try feeding your dog B complex vitamins, one pill per ten kilograms of body weight per day. B vitamins can promote the metabolism of carbohydrates, proteins and fats and improve the dog's appetite.
