Morphological Characteristics of the Krait
Krait

The krait is highly venomous, and its venom can even kill people. Under normal circumstances, it will not attack people. The krait is relatively mild during the day and is very alert at night. There are reports that there have been rare cases of fatal bites in Hong Kong.
The head of the krait is oval, the tail is very short, and the tail is slightly triangular. The end of the tail is blunt and slightly flat. The whole body has a large number of obvious black and yellow ribs and black rings. It is almost the same width as the yellow ring pattern. The yellow ring pattern has 23 to 28 rings on the body and 3 to 5 rings on the tail. The dorsal scales are smooth and have 15 rows. The middle row of scales on the back is particularly large, with complete anal phosphorus. The scales are single row, the abdomen is gray-white, and the body length is 100 to 180 cm. The back of the head is dark brown, and there are light-colored inverted "V"-shaped spots on the occiput. The back is raised like a ridge, so the cross section of the body is slightly triangular, and the tail end is rounded and blunt. The head is oval, with less obvious difference from the neck. The back of the head has 9 typical large scales. The scales on the back are smooth, with 15 rows all over the body, and a row of ridge scales in the middle of the back is exaggerated into a hexagonal shape.
